Here are a couple updates from around our house. Now that fall is approaching, I hope to have more time to post on here! We still have some things planned to do outside like finally finish and touch-up the deck stain, and add a small wire fence in the woods behind our house. We had a white vinyl privacy fence installed over the summer and we love it. More importantly, our dog loves it because now he has the whole yard to roam around in, without the leash! We left the back open without fencing because we like having a view of the woods and no neighbors in our backyard, but would still like to have some reassurance that animals like coyotes can't sneak up on our dog! The first couple of photos I have are of my potted flowers on the front porch which have been growing at an insane rate-love them.
This next photo is of a small hallway we have going from the kitchen towards the laundry room on the left and the powder room on the right. Previously, I had a small black cabinet tucked in the corner that holds some of our random stuff like garbage bags, etc. The last time we were in Wisconsin, we stopped at an Amish woodworking shop new to the area that we usually frequent. The nicest Amish man showed us around his impressive shop and had a few handmade pieces for sale including this little shelf which I had to have! I love the natural color of the wood, and the story behind it.
The canvas was a HomeGoods find, which I think makes a much better statement than the little cabinet that was in this space before!
I have big plans for this wall aka white painted wood planks! The rest of the photos are from the dining room where I moved the little cabinet to-a more central location with easy access. I definitely want to re-style it, but for now moving it there worked.
"Decorate Purposefully, DIY Frugally" is my motto for helping turn our newly constructed house into a home. This is where I document the home projects my fiance and I are tackling along with our fur-baby bulldog!
